What Have You Done for You Lately?

Some people want to be rock stars, some successful business people, some want to be a better accountant or lose weight, or even get that all elusive degree. What about you? What are you doing with your life? Do you have purpose, direction or a since of focus. Maybe you are just one of the many people who want better but are not willing to do what it takes to get better. Well, are you?

What have you done for you lately? If you are a salesperson did you make that one
extra call to one of your potential prospects? If you are a teacher, does your teaching style needs revamping so that your students can get excited about learning again? If you want to lose weight, what did you do today to bring you closer to your idea weight?

You see, we can all point to something that we did in the past, that we did at the beginning, that we do from time to time. Do you notice that there are a lot of people in the gym in January and then in June you only see about half of them; there’s a reason for this. Before I tell you the reason let me tell you something about reaching goals. One of the key to successful goal attainment is consistent effort. Ok, now the reason why you only see half or less than half of the people in the gym in June than you see in January is because they didn’t stick with it. Sounds simple doesn’t it? I’m not saying this is the only reason, there are many reasons why we do or don’t do things in life, but it’s a big one, probably in the top five.

Someone please tell me how can you accomplish something that you don’t stick with? You can’t! Think of the things you want to accomplish; are you committing to some sort of action on a regular basis that is moving you closer to your goal? I’m not saying that you have to do something every day but is does have to be on a regular basis. Periodic, no! Every now and then, no! Sometimes, no! When I feel like it, no! On a regular basis! The next time you have a moment, stop and think of all the things that you wanted to accomplish in life and think of why you didn't accomplish them. When you really think about it, I bet you that you will begin to pick up on some kind of theme. Something to think about, isn’t it?
