What
is Coaching?
Coaching is
a way to help you make the best use of your resources.
It is a way to bring out the best of your capabilities. Coaching
helps you set goals and reach them. Coaching is results oriented
and can focus on virtually any area of life: business, career, family,
health, personal growth, spirituality, intimacy, simple living or
financial development.
Coaching is not therapy.
It's not treatment. It’s not consulting. Coaching is about
helping you obtain the results you want in life and a coach uses
a variety of tools to help clients achieve the results they want.
Coaches teach, explore alternatives, inspire, act as a sounding
board, build confidence and capability, facilitate learning, ask
questions, listen with compassion, develop skills, create ownership,
provide a challenge, act as a model, and explore potential. A coach
acts as a partner, providing clients with tools, support and structure
to achieve more than they might be able to do by themselves.
Coaches do not explore
past issues. While past issues may emerge in a coaching session,
a coach is typically concerned with helping clients achieve results
in the present and future.
